Introduction About HOPE Project




NMCT: Native Medicare Charitable Trust has been a leader in fostering and supporting the development of community-driven approaches to HIV prevention, care and support, and impact mitigation. It has expertise in implementing care and support project, reducing stigma and discrimination particularly among the PLHIV and affected families including children affected by HIV.

Project Title: “Health, Opportunity & Positive Environment for the PLHIV and affected families’’-HOPE

Working Areas: Eight blocks in Coimbatore district (Annur, Karamadai, Madukkarai, Periyanaickenpalayam, Sarkarsamakulam, Sultanpet, Sulur, Thondamuthur, Coimbatore Corporation and Mettupalayam Municipality) and Duration of the Project: 4 Years (2015 - 2018).
Primary Stakeholders: (Adult PLHIV, Family members affected by HIV/AIDS (FAA) & Children infected / affected by HIV/AIDS (CIA/CAA)
Project objectives: “Healthy and dignified life for PLHIV by reduction in poverty, discrimination and human rights violation.

·         Formation of special SHGs and Capacity Building Training.
Children:
·         Life skill education training to children.  
·         Career counseling trainings.
·         Seminar on child rights.
·         Sensitization to health care personnel's.
·       Sensitisation to PRI members for accessing government schemes for PLHIV.
·       Sensitization meetings to teachers.      

·         Sustainable Nutrition Supplements to PLHIV.

NMCT has conducted an “Awareness Meeting on HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Act 2017 to Lawyers, NGOs and CBOs” in Coimbatore District on 21.09.2017 by 5pm at Hotel Park Inn, Gopalapuram, Coimbatore. Mr.A.S.Sankaranarayanan, Managing Trustee, gave welcome address for the meeting. Ad.Viswanathan, Secretary, Coimbatore Bar Association, Coimbatore inaugurated the meeting. Ad.Mathivanan and Ad.Victor, Senior Advocates from Coimbatore were the facilitators of the meeting.
